Meet THE SMITHS

We are the Smiths and we are so glad you’re here! My husband and I are very happy to open our place to all kinds and sizes of dogs. We are big-time animal lovers and our son seems to be following in our footsteps! We are secluded on 20 acres in Whitehouse, TX and have a little “funny farm” we care to daily. We have our labs: Hank, Sam and Ben; our donkeys, Opal and Henry; our cat, Judy; and our chickens. They keep our hearts full and our lives busy. During your pet’s stay with us, we will continue to love on and care for your dog to make their stay friendly and fun!

We are open 7 days a week, by appointment only. We also offer a pick-up and delivery service. As a complimentary service, bedding that is brought in with your dog will be cleaned before pick-up. We ask that you bring your own dog food (bowls are provided) and they will remain on the feeding schedule you provide. Your dog will get plenty of sunshine on pretty days, as well as daily exercise and one-on-one playtime. We have two large yards behind the kennels for playtime. When inside, your dog will enjoy Classic Rock and Reggae. Our rooms are heated and cooled and provide plenty of space for your dog. Individual rooms are 4’ x 6′ with an attached 4’ x 7′ outdoor run. We have two kennels that are set up for “no contact”. For more information on this, just reach out to us. Our facility and yard are cleaned and maintained daily.

Comforts
Climate-controlled suites with private doggy doors to outside. Kennels and yard are cleaned and maintained daily. Stainless steel bowls are provided – food is not.

Vaccinations & Health
To ensure the health of all animals, we require each dog to be current on flea prevention, Rabies, DHPP, Bordetella (given within 6 months of stay), and a yearly negative fecal test.

After a long search for a place to board my German Shepherds, I stumbled across Erin & Smith County Kennels. Erin is a very enthusiastic dog lover with a great set up. I've left my dogs there twice and they were returned happy and healthy. Erin sent multiple updates with pictures and did amazingly well with my boys! I can't recommended the Smith County Kennels highly enough!

I love Smith County Kennels! I don't worry about my dog while she's there & she always comes back home better than when I dropped her off. She gets plenty of exercise & human interaction - she's not just locked up in a dog run during her stay. The owners are big animal lovers, so I know my Gypsy is in good hands.

Before Smith County Kennels was a business, the owners kept my sweet lab for a period of time while I was unable to. There is absolutely nobody else I would trust more than Michael & Erin Smith to keep our dogs. Anytime we go out of town, they keep our pups, & even offer pick-up/drop-off services which is like nothing anyone else offers. Highly recommended!
